Nelda Jean May

Funeral services for Nelda Jean May, of Paris, Texas, were held at 10 a.m.

Dec. 1, 2022 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel.

Nelda passed away Nov. 26, 2022, at the age of 73.

Nelda Jean May was born on Oct.

4, 1949, in Borger, Texas, the daughter of Chester May and Lena “Irene” (Ridge)

May. She was preceded in death by her parents. Nelda lived most of her life in southeast Oklahoma.

Her passion was the children’s ministry and she served with the Assemblies of God for 28 years in Oklahoma, Arizona and Texas, along with other jobs. Nelda performed puppet shows for the kids and while in Arizona served the Native American children on the reservation. She loved to sing, play the piano and sew.

Nelda loved her family but above all she loved the Lord. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Nelda is survived by her brothers: Chester Eugene May of Paris, Texas, and Carl Dean May and wife of Bear, Del.; an aunt of Paris, Texas, along with a host of friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Soper Cemetery in Soper, Okla., with John David Flores, Burl Baker and Wanda Baker officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
