Novella Jane Boykin

Funeral services for Novella Jane Boykin, of Mustang, Okla., were held at 1 p.m. March 26, 2022 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Novella passed away March 18, 2022, at the age of 79.

Novella Jane Boykin was born on Feb. 28, 1943 in Hennepin, Okla., to Amos Fred Reed and Addie Tullos Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; son, John Eggenberg; a grandson; brothers: G.W. Reed and Floyd Reed; sisters: Mary Sargent and Barbara Morris and many other family members and friends.

Janie, as she was known by many, married the love of her life, Donald M. Boykin on Aug. 21, 1973. They made their home in Mustang, Okla., where Janie served on the Election Board for many years. She also worked for many years selling t-shirts and collecting money at sporting events in Mustang and Yukon. Janie enjoyed camping, getting her hair done and talking on the phone to friends and family. She loved her family and friends and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janie will be greatly missed by all her loved ones.

Janie is survived by her sons: Jay Eggenberg of Mustang and Gary Boykin of Claremore, Okla.; daughters: Jennie Rowell of Little Axe, Okla., and Glenda Bacon of Claremore; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Soper Cemetery with Pastor Tom Holder officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
