Celebration of life for Roger Dale Barnes will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Hugo, Okla., with Tim Harless officiating. Roger went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 73.

Roger Dale Barnes was born March 11, 1949 to James and Lue Dale (Claborn) Barnes in Hugo. He had lived in this area all of his life and served in the United States National Guard from 1970 until 1986. Roger married the love of his life, Catherine Rowe of 51 years, on Dec. 21, 1970 in Soper, Okla. Roger loved the Lord and was a member of the First Christian Church. He was a minister, chaplain, sports official, teacher, vice principal and coach. Roger enjoyed deer hunting and raising show pigs. Roger was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Barnes.

Roger is survived by his wife, Catherine Barnes of the home; son, Scott Barnes and Candace Adams of Soper; grandchildren: Katlyn Barnes, Madison Barnes Ezekiel Barnes, Trayser Adams, Madilynn Flowers; great-grandchildren: Liam Albert, Rori Barnes, Emeryn Dobrinski; brother, James Barnes Jr. and wife, Debbie; sister-in-law, Donna Barnes; nieces: Toni Barnes, Diane Barnes, Marla Barnes, Sheila Barnes, Tammie Dooley, Lisa Pierce and Julie Fairchild; nephews: Warren Barnes and James N.
