Graveside services for Roy Earl Scott, of Fort Towson, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 6, 2022 at Fort Towson Cemetery. Roy passed away Feb. 2, 2022, at the age of 88.

Roy Earl Scott was born on July 23, 1933 in Fort Towson, Okla., to Jeff Scott and Nellie (Pruitt) Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gladys Scott; his parents; granddaughter, Jennifer Scott; two brothers: Cartez Scott and Columbus (Boo) Scott.

Roy was a lifelong resident of the Fort Towson community, and he proudly served his county in the United States Army. After being discharged from the Army in 1955, he married the love of his life, Mary Gladys (Wheeler) Scott. They got married in Hugo, Okla., on Oct. 19, 1957 and they built their life together in Fort Towson. Roy was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish and hunt every opportunity he had. He spent his days as a farmer and rancher. Roy loved being in the hay fields bailing hay, spending time with his dogs, and planting his garden every year. Most of all, he loved his family. Roy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Roy is survived by his children: sons: Roy Dean Scott of Fort Towson and Donald Scott and wife, Katheryn of Fort Towson; daughters: Nancy Rushin and husband, Nickey of Fort Towson and Kathleen Scott; 13 grandchildren: Tracy Smith, C.C. (Cummings) Smith, Ivy Smith, Cassie Tisho, Brandy Scott, Crystal Cook, Gary Rushin, Angela Lewis, Ashley Scott, Jeffrey Scott, Stacey Scott and Samantha Scott; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Mattie Faye Butler, along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.

Bro. Allen Wallace officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
