Roy Lee Barcheers passed away on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021 in Durant, Okla., at the age of 76. Roy was born on March 15, 1945 in Boswell, Okla., to BR and Rosa Lee (Satterfield) Barcheers. After high school graduation, Roy proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years and was Honorably Discharged on Dec. 23, 1966. He married Rita E. Jones on Oct. 11, 1969 at County Line Church and to this union they were blessed with three children. They would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on Oct. 11, 2021. He has been a lifelong resident of Choctaw County and he worked as a welder and iron worker. He loved to preach and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed preaching, hunting, fishing, being a cowboy and country boy and he dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Buddy Barcheers.

Loved ones left behind to carry on his legacy are his loving and devoted wife, Rita E. Barcheers of the home; children: Gail Taylor and husband, Dee of Durant, Carol Robertson and husband, John of Mead, Okla., and Carl Barcheers and wife, Gracanna of Boswell; grandsons: Mark Knight and wife, Shyanna, Justin Taylor and Savannah Thatcher, Joshua Taylor and wife, Dakota, Coltland Judd and wife, Coltan, Jacob Judd and Brittney, Jodie Edwards and wife, Chelsey and Hunter Barcheers and Lyndi Lowery; granddaughters: Becca Barcheers, Jayme Edwards, Geneanna Edwards, Ashley Ford and husband, Curtis and Morgan Taylor; 15 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters: Eleanor Nadine Roberts, Virginia Lay and Carolyn Kaye Matthews and husband, Randy, and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021 at County Line Church. Pastor Terry Holliday and Bro. Paul Silvers officiated. Interment followed in Restland Cemetery in Boswell with Mark Knight, Justin Taylor, Josh Taylor, Coltland Judd, Jacob Judd, Jodie Edwards and Hunter Barcheers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Kaleb Rollins, Steven Lee and Shelby Smith. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
