Hugo News Sports A 2021 Hugo High School graduate is making a name for herself at Northern Oklahoma College, earning Player of the Year and All America honors. A sophomore, Jordan Holman has started in all 54 games since arriving on campus.
Hugo News Sports Middle School head coach and varsity assistant coach Tanner Trent was named Junior High Coach of the Year for region six by the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association last week. Athletic director Darnell Shanklin nominated Trent for the award, saying Trent is deserving of the recognition after three years of hard work he’s put into the program.

Hugo News Sports The Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association named Hugo alumni Charlie Bob Wibben the 2022 Friend of Basketball for region six. Wibben has been a fixture at Hugo sporting events for decades, helping out wherever he’s needed.
