HUGO — The Hugo Buffaloes found the critically important passing game that had eluded them for the previous four weeks and slammed the Wilburton Diggers 48-0 Friday at Gene Nesbit Stadium, putting a big, sweet cherry on top of their 2020 Football Homecoming.

Funeral services for Mayrene Lewis, longtime Valliant resident, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 at Watermill Freewill Baptist Church in Valliant. Mayrene passed away Oct. 10, 2020, at the age of 91.

Wake services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020 at the Canton Community Center, Canton, Okla. for Elizabeth (Surveyor) Scroggins, 61, of Hugo, Okla., formerly of Canton, with the Rev. Waylon Upchego officiating. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 at the same venue. Interment will follow at Cantonment Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

Joetta Kathryn Pyle, age 69 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020. She was born March 15, 1950 in Hugo, Okla., to parents Joseph Leslie and Joy Milburn, who preceded her in death along with her son, David Anthony Leslie.
