Lonnie LavonRay Cole, of Hugo, Okla., passed away Feb. 3, 2022, at the age of 29.

CHOCTAW COUNTY –– A person of interest in a recent shooting in Sawyer, Okla., has turned himself in to the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department. According to reports, Steven Tyler Nichols, 24, turned himself in Saturday after allegedly shooting a Sawyer man during an altercation last week.

HUGO –– A jury made up of 12 individuals found a Hugo man guilty Monda during trial at the Choctaw County Courthouse. Justin Lee Jordan, 35, was found guilty of trafficking in illegal drugs and sentenced to 45 years.
