The Choctaw Cultural Center’s newest exhibit “Bolukta: Mississippian Designs, Medallions, and Modern Choctaw Art” features recent works by Jane Semple Umsted. This exhibit allows for a closer study of the artist’s skill at creating traditional designs in the mediums of acrylics and batiks. The exhibit will open on April 16, 2024, and run through Oct. 19, 2024, on the center’s Exhibit Wall.
• Imposters claims to represent Attorney General’s Office Attorney General Gentner Drummond is warning Oklahomans about a new scam where imposters are calling citizens to tell them they have won money. The caller claims to be an agent with the Attorney General’s office and tells recipients they need to pay a fee to collect their winnings.
The Fort Towson 4-H Club has been very busy this school year. The members served teachers food during National 4-H Week, made Christmas and Valentine cards for three different nursing homes, have been showing their animals and livestock shows and much more.
The Kiamichi Conservation District has announced that funds are available for cost-share assistance on selected conservation practices benefiting conservation.
