RECKLESS BALLERS — This group of fifth and sixth grade athletes, has been playing traveling basketball this summer under the direction of Coach Jieriel Johnson (top right) and Assistant Coach Jordan Smith (top left). Team members include: (back, l-r) Haidyn Campbell, Hadli Campbell, Jozie Holder and Jalyn Johnson. (Front, l-r) Jakya Johnson and Genesis Smith. Johnson is a former Hugo High player as a member of the 2002 Hugo Buffalo basketball team. The team recently brought home a second place tournament trophy from the East Texas Hoops Tournament in Roxton, Texas.

OKLAHOMA CITY –– The Coalition of Oklahoma Breastfeeding Advocates (COBA) kicks off National Breastfeeding Month with a series of weekly videos celebrating the 2020 theme Many Voices United. The United States Breastfeeding Committee’s (USBC) theme is reflective of the policy and system changes that are needed to ensure that every family that chooses breastfeeding has the support and resources they need to succeed.

Noble Research teams receive OCAST grants

ARDMORE –– Four Noble Research Institute research teams each received a two-year, $100,000 grant from Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST). The four grants will be used to help improve various aspects of agriculture by fighting pecan scab, improving tall fescue, building plant defenses against disease and helping plants use nitrogen more efficiently.
