An active week of weather across southeast Oklahoma with off and on showers and thunderstorms through Thursday, but then much cooler air will move in and bring drier air just in time to give us a sunny weekend.

Fort Towson has officially started the first OSSAA-sanctioned “Esports” team. Esports, short for electronic sports, is a collective term that describes organized competitive video gaming, where individuals use video game consoles, PCs or even mobile phones to play popular video games against other esports teams.

Tom and Katie were in love. After two years of courting, Tom finally worked up his courage to pop the question. No, not the “Will you marry me?” to Katie. The real question back in those years was the one asked of the bride’s father, “Do I have your permission to ask your daughter to marry me?”

HUGO — Although the mystery surrounding the death or disappearance of Ronnie Odell Davis remains after 44 years, family members are still searching for answers. Davis disappeared 44 years ago in August, after telling family members he was going to “go check on his horses,” south of Swink, in Choctaw County.

Hugo School will have its Homecoming Coronation Thursday before the Buffaloes kickoff against Valliant. The Queen Candidates include: • Rylee Beason is the 17-year-old daughter of Mark Baugus and Melanie Baugus of Hugo.

SHEILAH GIBBS (left), of Hugo, was this week’s winner of the Hugo News Football Contest after choosing 16 out of 19 games correctly. Gibbs guessed closest (421) to the OU Sooners’ total offense figure (662) to edge out Eddie Ball and Turk Robinson.
