HUGO — Last week Hugo residents Margaret Chafin and her son John brought a bit of distinction to the Choctaw Memorial Hospital family and to their own family as well, as they returned to the hospital where John was born in 1951… this time sharing a room together as COVID-19 virus patients.

Ernest McCarty (right), of Hugo, was this week’s winner of the Hugo News Football Contest after choosing 16 out of 19 games correctly. Above, McCarty collects the $50 weekly prize from Shane Spillman from Security First National Bank, where he obtained his winning entry blank.
