Celebration of life funeral service for Dale Pence, Jr. were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb.

4, 2023 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, Okla., with Pastor Mike Bryant officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo. Dale passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 42.

Hugh Dale Pence, Jr. was born April 3, 1980, the son of Hugh Dale Pence Sr. and Carolyn Reneé (Harris) Pence in Hugo, Okla. He grew up in this area, graduating high school from Hugo in 1999. He went on to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Administration from Southeastern in 2004. He married the love of his life and soulmate, Natalie Heinrich, on April 5, 2014, in Enid, Okla. They made their home in Chandler, Okla., where he worked for Firetrol Protection Systems in Oklahoma City, working in the Inspections Department as a Fire Extinguisher Technician. He had many jobs through his life including Sears in Hugo and Paris, Texas, as an appliance delivery and installer, Safety Supervisor for Airgas/ Oilind Safety in Tulsa, Safety Specialist for DXP Enterprise Inc. and Fire Extinguisher Tech at Marmic Fire and Safety Co. in Tulsa, and other places in Oklahoma. He was really passionate about fire and safety, ensuring safety for others.

Dale enjoyed mechanicing on vehicles, deer hunting and fishing. He had such a caring and helpful heart where he would do anything to help others. Dale served as a deacon at Talala Christian Church while living in Claremore, Okla. He loved the Lord with all his heart.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Hershel and Ann Pence; grandfather, Raymond Harris; father and mother in-law: C.A. Heinrich and Barbara Heinrich; uncles: Noel Pence, Michael E. Harris and Albert R. Harris.

Dale is survived by his wife, Natalie Pence of the home; parents, Hugh Dale Pence, Sr. and Carolyn Reneé Pence; sister, Anna Michele Pence; grandmother, Minnie Oleta Harris, all of Hugo; uncle and aunt, Steve and Cindy Harris of Atlanta, Texas; uncles: Edward Harris and Norman Pence; aunts: Oleta Bryant and Nita Pence, all of Hugo; aunt and uncle, Cathy and Clinton Welcher of Ada, Okla.; sister-in-law, Amy Cogswell; numerous nieces and nephews, a bunch of cousins, many friends and extended family who will dearly miss him.

Dale chose in death to give life to others by organ donation where he can live on helping others.
