HUGO — Two felony counts of shooting with intent to kill were filed on Sept. 28 on two Choctaw County men, following a shooting incident into a home located on Fallon Road southeast of Hugo.
Hugo officer recovering after Sunday morning wreck

CHOCTAW COUNTY –– A Hugo Police officer is recovering after a wreck he was involved in Sunday morning, approximately two miles west of Soper, Okla., on US Hwy. 70.

Casino security, technology lead officers to stolen vehicle

Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police were dispatched to the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Grant recently in regards to a possible stolen vehicle. According to official reports, valet attendants received a valet receipt ticket from two males, who were later identified as Terral Jack Barnes, 32 of Hugo and Gerry Vance Noah, 45 of Soper.
Area woman charged after gunfire, running from police

HUGO — Area law-enforcement officers were alerted to reports of gunfire north of Hugo High School Monday afternoon and soon-after began chasing a vehicle meeting the description of the vehicle involved.
USDA to begin issuing billions to Ag producers through critical emergency relief programs

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it will begin issuing more than $1.75 billion in emergency relief payments to eligible farmers and livestock producers. These much-needed payments are helping farming and ranching operations recover following natural disasters in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
