Celebration of life service for Cledith Bea Wesley were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at the Mt. Olive Funeral Home in Hugo, Okla., with Tommy Wesley officiating. Burial followed at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo. Cledith went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 in Fort Towson, Okla., at the age of 88.

Funeral services for Anthony “Tony” Rivers, of DeQueen, Ark., were held at 2 p.m. Feb.

A celebration of life for Donnie Cole will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, Okla., with Pastor Steve Cook officiating. Donnie went to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, 2021 Idabel, Okla., at the age of 71.

Sam Henry Ahtone, 71, of Madill, Okla., passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at his home in Madill. He was born on Sept. 4, 1949 in Hugo, Okla., to the late Henry Ahtone and Lucille Wesley. Sam was raised in Hugo and attended Hugo Schools until his junior year when he moved to Sulphur, Okla., where he graduated high school. While in Sulphur, Sam played baseball and met his high school sweetheart, Donna. The newlymarried couple moved to Edmond where he would continue to play baseball and receive a Bachelor’s Degree at Central State College. He later attended Southeastern University where he received his Master’s Degree. Sam and Donna had four children together: Sam, Steve, Chandra and Jeri Kaye. Sam would go on to work in public education, teaching in several schools, coaching sports and even working as a principal. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kingston. He enjoyed golfing, watching golf, OU football, sharing recipes with his daughters, attending sports games with his sons, joking with his grandkids, as well as spending time and antique hunting with his love, Marjorie.

HUGO — The No. 2-rated Hugo Buffaloes were ready to play last week on their home court against the Broken Bow Savages, putting together four solid quarters of play to thump their guests, 68-53.

HUGO — Hugo’s Lady Buffaloes came out of the blocks against the Lady Savages of Broken Bow in strong fashion, battling their rivals to a 12-12 first quarter standoff. Broken Bow outscored Hugo by a bucket in the second, 10-8 to take a slim two-point lead with them into the first half locker room.
