Former Undersheriff draws prison time for beating man in handcuffs

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Kendall Bryan Morgan, age 45, of Shady Point, Okla., was sentenced today to 22 months imprisonment and 36 months of supervised release for violating the civil rights of a handcuffed detainee without legal justification.

The annual event, held at Tvshka Homma on the grounds of the historic Choctaw Capitol, is southeastern Oklahoma’s largest gathering. The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) will host the festival on Friday, Sept. 1 through Sunday, Sept. 3.
