Choctaw Nation bridging unity with $1M check
Body
The Choctaw Nation is building upon the foundation of its partnership with county government and the local community by helping fund the ongoing Muddy Boggy Creek Bridge Project north of Boswell.
A new bridge is being built to bypass the old one, which has been deemed “one of the poorest (rated) bridges in Oklahoma,” District 1 County Commissioner Ronnie Thompson said. The project is about 75% complete, according to Jimmy Watson, program director and civil engineer for Circuit Engineering District 3. The project was estimated to cost the county nearly $5.8 million.
