Many agriculture producers in our area have a license to buy Restricted Use Pesticides (RUP) to control pests on their farm or ranch. One of the conditions or rules to keeping that license is to receive continuing education units (CEUs) throughout the fiveyear term of the license.

HUGO — Two felony counts of shooting with intent to kill were filed on Sept. 28 on two Choctaw County men, following a shooting incident into a home located on Fallon Road southeast of Hugo.

Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police were dispatched to the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Grant recently in regards to a possible stolen vehicle. According to official reports, valet attendants received a valet receipt ticket from two males, who were later identified as Terral Jack Barnes, 32 of Hugo and Gerry Vance Noah, 45 of Soper.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it will begin issuing more than $1.75 billion in emergency relief payments to eligible farmers and livestock producers. These much-needed payments are helping farming and ranching operations recover following natural disasters in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
