Boswell man arrested after contraband drop

• Purchasing receipt left in the bag CHOCTAW COUNTY –– A Boswell, Okla., man was arrested in early August after law enforcement was notified of a possible contraband drop at the Howard Mcleod Correction Center. According to official reports from ODOC resident agent in charge Keith Hawkins, Joe Clay Harris, 38, allegedly dropped a package containing 982 grams of dry tobacco, four lighters, five books of rolling paper and one receipt from the Choctaw Travel Plaza in Boswell.

Choctaw County EMS Director Springfield speaks at State Capitol

Dr. Randy L. Springfield, Executive Director of the Choctaw County Ambulance Authority was asked by USDA Oklahoma State Director Kenneth Corn to be the guest speaker at the Oklahoma State Capitol representing Rural EMS agencies in the State of Oklahoma who received USDA grants to improve their agencies and communities. Dr. Springfield spoke to Oklahoma lawmakers, guests and press on the importance of USDA grants and how the funds help rural EMS agencies throughout the state, including Choctaw County, to better serve the communities and all Oklahomans.
