We have nothing but sunny days and clear nights in the forecast for the week ahead except for a chance of showers Friday night. High temperatures will be in the mid- to upper-70s for mid- and late-week, not bad for the week after Thanksgiving. Colder air will arrive this weekend with highs in the 60s on Saturday and drop into the upper-30s by Sunday night.

OKLAHOMA CITY — State Epidemiologist Jolianne Stone issued the following statement regarding the Omicron variant of COVID-19: “OSDH continuously monitors all COVID-19 variants, including the recently identified Omicron variant, to better assess the current and future state of the pandemic and its potential impact on Oklahomans. At this time, no cases of the Omicron variant have been reported in our state.
Candidate filing period to open for local school board positions

Well I guess this is us now! That about covers the first half of December. This stupid (not to be confused with dumb, but if you’re confused you could probably go with dumb, and if you’re still confused then you can join me in joyously accepting all three adjectives) weather pattern we are in gives us momentary glimpses of winter, which climatologically begins tomorrow (meteorologically too, but climate always rules over weather! {spits on ground}) and runs through February. Although in reality it probably starts somewhere around Jan. 4 and runs through Jan. 9? So we will continue to see temperatures run 15-20 degrees above normal at times, like Thursday and Friday.
Pushmataha County man loses life in rollover wreck

PUSHMATAHA COUNTY –– A Ringold, Okla., man lost his life in a one-vehicle wreck last Thursday on S.H. 3, approximately a half-mile east of Rattan in Pushmataha County.
According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, John Lundry, 38, was eastbound on S.H. 3 when he ran off the right side of the roadway for an unknown reason, struck an embankment and rolled approximately two-and-a-half times. Reports state Lundry was ejected a distance of 67 feet. He was pronounced deceased at the scene with a head injury.

Noble begins redesigning education, consultation programs
