After starting the week with freezing temperatures at night, we are going to have a big warm up as the week progresses. I am expecting 76 degrees on Thursday and 81 on Friday, but then another cold front will knock the temperatures down for the weekend with high temperatures only expected to be in the 50s. Precipitation is going to be hard to come by with only one chance during the next seven days.
DURANT –– The COVID-19 vaccination booster doses are available for all patients 18 years and older, regardless of the vaccine brand previously obtained. The Choctaw Nation Clinics will be providing the booster to all eligible individuals, regardless of tribal member status or residency.

MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY met at the South Central District Building in Hugo Saturday, to discuss the recent ongoing violence and other pressing issues. City of Hugo officials, as well as community leaders and citizens took the floor to discuss their ideas and concerns.
Andy Kumar, a McDonald’s franchisee serving the community for four years now, is an owner/operator with nine locations in the Dallas, Texas, area with more than 650 employees. Andy is very excited to be acquiring six more new McDonald’s locations starting Dec. 9, 2021, in Hugo, Okla., and in northeast Texas area in Paris, Bonham, Sulphur springs, Mt. Vernon and Winnsboro.
More than 1,700 Oklahomans die from Alzheimer’s disease each year. The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) announced it has formed a new statewide coalition to address key issues related to Alzheimer’s disease in Oklahoma, and has begun seeking new members to join the effort.
