The Hugo board of education met in regular session on Dec. 14. Our annual financial audit was reported by Bledsoe, Hewett, and Gullekson. The board approved fundraiser requests for HMS and HHS as well as the opening of a new activity account for the HMS Computer Lab. Leah Brown was employed to work as a custodian at HMS and the board accepted the resignations of Jan Hunter and Ruby Nored. After an executive session to discuss the matter, the board renewed my contract. Encumbrance, Payroll, and Minutes Clerk, Shelly Wilson, was selected as the Support Employee of the Month. Shelly is a godsend who has helped us keep the district running smoothly for many years. Our December payroll will include employee bonuses for unused sick and personal leave from last year.
